FEBRUARY 12, 2016 SINGLE RELEASE:  "U-TURNS"

Words truly can not express how incredibly grateful and humbled I am to be sitting here writing to you.  The last 6 years have been truly life changing and filled with a lot of tears, pain, joys, and awakenings. I never saw myself going back into the music industry.  To be totally honest, I just didn't think I had it in me anymore.  I was broken and in pieces and couldn't speak without crying, how could I sing?  Year after year God chipped away at me.  The love of my kids, family, and friends helped heal my broken heart and special hearts fought for me and championed me.  My first trip back to Nashville since 2008 was this last February 2015 and the first song I wrote was the end of May.  I didn't know if I could write or sing or what I would even write or sing about.  It was terrifying yet so incredibly wonderful writing and recording all 11 songs for my album "YOU FOUND ME".  So, here I am with my heart in my hand, so thankful for you, and for this opportunity to sing and share my pains, joys, flaws and all.

I wrote "U-TURNS" September 13th, 2015 while I was in Nashville, TN.  I remember telling my two best friends that I finally came to a place in my life where guarding my guard finally clicked with me.  Growing up as a pastors daughter, I always felt the need to put others before myself and give and never take.  It's just my nature.  I would allow anyone into my heart and at times that has left me more than heart broken.  I finally understood how important it was not to allow just anyone, any person, relationship, friend, addiction, co-worker, boss to have a key to your heart and a hold on your life.  The words came out, "No more U-TURNS, no more giving people who don't fight for my heart a chance with my heart."   The truth is, only those deserving of our hearts should have the opportunity to unlock them.   Writing U-TURNS changed the direction of the whole album.  I had finally found my voice.
